Bajaj Auto will launch a new range of Pulsar in the Indian two-wheeler industry. The company has announced the launch date of the new Pulsar RS 200, on April 7 2-15, in the country. Claimed to be the “fastest Pulsar Yet’, the fully-faired Pulsar is based on the Pulsar 200NS. Interestingly, the company is also planning to introduce an Adventure Sport (AS) Pulsar variant, which is based on the 200 NS. If reports are to be believed, the Pulsar 200 AS will be launched in the Indian car market in June and will be priced under Rs. 1 lakh.
The Pulsar 200 AS will be slotted between the 200 NS and the new RS 200. Based on the 200 NS, the 200 Active Sport gets a half fairing along with a transparent tall windscreen at the front. The headlights come with an integrated projector lamp. The front of the bike seems inspired from the Discover 150F, while the rest looks largely similar to the 200 NS. The vehicle shares most of the components with 200 NS including rear section, swing arm, seating position, disc brakes, etc.
It will be powered by the same 199.5cc engine that also powers the 200 NS and 200 RS. This engine is capable of producing 24.4PS of power and 18.6Nm of torque. The engine will be coupled to a six-speed gearbox. The bike will get new MRF NyloGrip Zapper tyres instead of the Eurogrip rubber offered on the 200 NS.
