Volkswagen India has announced that the updated Jetta sedan will go on sale in the country on February 17, 2015. The refurbished saloon was first premiered at the 2014 New York Motor Show, and will later showed to public on different platforms. The 2015 Jetta saloon gets changes to both exteriors and interiors.
The front fascia of the all-new Jetta gets a new triple-slat chrome grille, redesigned bumper with new foglight enclosures. The new grille is complemented by LED daytime running lights integrated with the slightly tweaked headlamps. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to new set of alloy wheels, while the rest of the side profile is unchanged. At the back, the sedan has new LED tail lamp cluster, modified bumper and chrome enhancement.
Interior changes to the 2015 VW Jetta sedan are very subtle. The new three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel has been sourced from the 2014 Polo hatchback. Other changes include new music system with piano black surrounds which further enhances the overall ambience of the cabin.
The new Volkswagen Jetta continues to feature the same 1.4-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines. It is expected to be priced slightly higher than the current model. The new model will rival against the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia, Renault Fluence and Toyota Corolla Altis.
