2015 Hyundai Verna facelift has been launched in the Indian car market. Available in petrol and diesel fuel options, the updated sedan is priced in the range of Rs. 7.74 lakh to Rs. 12.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The sedan largely resembles the Solaris facelift in Russia; the updated model has received decent changes to styling and mechanics.
Majority of the changes are given to the exteriors, and the most noticeable upgrade is the new front façade. It features new grille with twin slats that is flanked by larger projector headlamps, redesigned bumper and new boomerang shaped fog-lamps. The side profile remains untouched. At the back, the sedan received cosmetic changes including new LED effects on tail lamps and new reflectors on bumper.
Interior changes are very subtle. It received 1GB internal memory with audio player, Ergo lever on the front passenger seat that will allow rear occupant to adjust the front seat, comfortable rear seat with revised armrest with twin cup holder, etc. Top-end variant of the Verna sedan features six airbags, ABS with EBD, multifunctional steering wheel with Bluetooth connectivity, rear view mirror integrated reverse camera, etc.
The previous model is heavily criticized for its soft-suspension and light steering. Hyundai has made some mechanical tweaks to its suspension, which now offers better drivability. Under the bonnet are the same set of engines- – 1.4-litre & 1.6-litre petrol and 1.4-litre & 1.6-litre diesel. The sedan continues to come in three transmission options- 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 4-speed automatic.
