2014 Volkswagen Vento facelift launching this month

Volkswagen Vento

Volkswagen India is gearing up to launch the much anticipated Vento facelift in the country. If media reports are to be believed, the company will launch the updated Vento this month. The vehicle has recently been spotted testing at the fuel station. VW has already stopped the production of the current model and is set to introduce the facelifted model in a couple of weeks.

The Volkswagen Vento facelift will get the new 1.5-litre TDI engine instead of 1.6-litre motor. This 4-cylinder turbo diesel motor is capable of producing a top power output of 105PS and 250Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and a seven-speed DSG as optional. The German marquee is aiming to capitalize on the growing demand for diesel automatic cars in India. Currently, Hyundai Verna is the only mid-sized sedan to feature auto gearbox with diesel motor.

The Volkswagen Vento facelift looks similar to the current model; however, the vehicle gets subtle changes which will make it look fresher. The majority of the changes will be given to the front fascia which includes a new bumper, restyled headlamps and grille. It will also get a new set of alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the Vento is expected to get more features. The petrol version of the sedan is likely to feature the same 1.2-litre TSI motor mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic and the 1.6-litre MPI motor with manual transmission.
