Maruti Swift facelift revealed

India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the facelifted Swift hatchback in the Indian car market. Interestingly, one of the Maruti Suzuki dealers has accidentally revealed the sporty variant of the Swift hatchback through newspaper advertisement. Adding to it, the company has also teased the sporty Swift on its social media platform, stating showstopper is coming soon.

The marketing campaign for the facelifted Swift is focusing more on the letter ‘S’, that means a sporty model is on cards. Moreover, the teaser also feature “power-packed” machine hinted at a more powerful version of the hatchback could make its way to the market. The company might also tweak the engine to offer more power and torque.

It is expected that the Swift facelift would get the 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine that also powers the Ertiga. This engine churns out 94bhp and 130Nm of torque. The company might also introduce the more powerful version of the 1.3-litre multi-jet motor that produces 90bhp and 200Nm of torque. However, we believe that the company would continue to feature the current engine spec. Both the engines would be paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. The company is also contemplating an automatic version of the hatchback, which could feature a 4-speed auto gearbox.

The Swift facelift gets new L-shaped LEDs, restyled bumper with silver detailing and fog lamps. The top-end model will be offered with a new pair of 16-inches alloy wheels, while the base variant will get steel wheel with new wheel covers. Inside the cabin, the vehicle would get new fabric upholstery, start & stop button, electronically adjustable side view mirrors, auto-up touch function, and advanced audio system with Bluetooth, Aux-in and iPod connectivity.
