Tata Motors has officially introduced the all-new Aria crossover MPV in the Indian car market. The vehicle has been introduced in three variants- Pure LX, Pleasure and Pride 4×4, at a starting price of Rs. 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company earlier revealed all the details and the prices for the new Aria at its official website; however, the vehicle is now officially launched in the market and is now available at all Tata dealerships across the nation.
Speaking on the launch of new Aria, Mr. Ankush Arora – Senior Vice President (Commercial), Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors Ltd., said, “At Tata Motors, the core philosophy behind the launch of every new vehicle is anticipating what our customers need and blending it with the best-in-class technology and design engineering. Under the hood, the new Tata Aria gets the same 2.2-litre 4-cylinder VariCor diesel engine which is now tuned to deliver high performance and power. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 148bhp, which is around 10bhp more than the previous model, and 320Nm of top torue. The company has also tuned the gearbox to reduce the NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) levels. It returns an impressive fuel economy of 15.05km/litre (ARAI certified).
The vehicle gets new stylised decals clear lens tail lamps and black bezel double barrel headlamps, which further accentuate the exterior design of the Aria. The all-new Aria features a uniquely engineered entertainment experience, exclusively tailored by JBL from HARMAN Premium Sound System for the first time in India. The sound system is acoustically tuned for optimum performance and delivers an outstanding musical treat for occupants of each seat – four mid-range speakers, four tweeters, one centre speaker and 1 sub-woofer.
The new model is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, the body coloured rub rails with chrome inserts add to its sporty character. The suspension system of the Aria is tuned to offer optimal balance between ride comfort, control and stability on both normal roads and off-roading. Its low-roll characteristics and higher soaking capacity ensures sedan-like ride quality and SUV-like off-road capability.
The all-new Aria is fitted with a new timing belt, with improved durability to 200,000 kms. A new replaceable cartridge-type pre-filter, provides for improved filtering for enhanced robustness of fuel injection system, thereby reducing cost of maintenance. The new VARICOR engine comes with a warranty of 3 years or 150,000 kms, whichever is earlier.
