Tata Motors India will launch its much-awaited Bolt hatchback and Zest compact sedan in the Indian car market in few months time. The vehicle will compete against the likes of Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10. However, it is expected to be cheaper than both the aforementioned cars. Maruti’s latest hit, Celerio is also considered to be a tough competitor for the upcoming Bolt. Based on the thoroughly modified X1 platform which also underpins the Vista, the Tata’s hatchback gets a much better design compared to other cars share this platform. Exterior
The front fascia of the Tata Bolt looks aggressive, thanks to the sharp headlamp assembly, big Tata’s smiling grille. The sporty tail lamps and its floating roof add to its aggressive stance. Its side profile sports prominent crease lines which start from wheel arches and runs across the length to meet the taillight. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to a 15-inch alloy wheels.
The Maruti Celerio looks a decent and features the familiar design of other smaller siblings. Compared to Bolt, it lacks the appeal but its simple styling attracts the masses. The front facade gets dual slat grille which accommodates Suzuki logo in the centre which is complemented by stretched headlamps.
Interior
The Bolt reveals the best Tata interior design and quality. The material quality and fit & finish is top notch and feels premium. It comes with spacious interiors with high leg, head and shoulder room space for five adults. The Bolt hatchback is equipped with lot of features such as touchscreen system, Bluetooth, Sat-Nav, voice recognition system and many more.
Inside the cabin, the Maruti Celerio looks simple; however, the material quality has been improved compared to A-Star and others. The top spec model is loaded with features like music system, USB, Bluetooth, keyless entry and others.
Safety Features
On safety front, the Bolt has several advanced equipment levels including EPAS with active return function and speed sensitive power steering, airbags, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, child safety lock and others.
The top spec Maruti Celerio boasts dual airbags, Anti-lock braking system, engine immobilizer, remote central locking, child safety lock and few more.
Price
The Tata Bolt hatchback is expected to be priced around Rs. 4 lakh for the base petrol and Rs. 6 lakh for the top end diesel model. On the other hand, Maruti Celerio is priced at Rs. 3.76 lakh for base spec model and Rs. 4.79 lakh for the top spec model.
