Ford that revealed the images of the production version Ka hatchback aka Figo in India has now released the first images of the Figo compact sedan. The production version of the Figo sedan is named as the Ka+ sedan in Brazil which is expected to go on sale by Aug-Sept.
Unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, the Figo sedan is expected to go on sale by early 2015. While the Brazilian model will be over 4 metre in length, the Indian version measures less than 4 metre. However, both models look identical to each other. The Figo sedan will replace the ageing Classic sedan in the Indian car market.
The Ford Ka+ sedan looks identical to the concept showcased in India; however, the company has slightly tweaked the aerodynamic creases and curves to make it road compatible. The vehicle is equipped with trapezoidal grille (Aston-Martin like grille) which is complemented by back large headlamps. It features large bumper with wide air dam and a pair of fog lamps.
The interiors of the saloon resemble the Fiesta and other Ford cars. Its centre console is directly sourced from the Fiesta, while the instrument console is simple. The multi-functional steering wheel gets Bluetooth and audio controls.
The Brazilian model will be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-pot flex-fuel engine that produces 85bhp and a peak torque of 105Nm. Power is transmitted to front wheels of the sedan via a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. The Indian model will get the renowned 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine producing 123bhp and 170Nm of top torque. However, we expect it to get the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 70bhp and a 1.4-litre diesel engine. While the diesel version will be coupled to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox, the petrol variant will be mated to five-speed manual or CVT gearbox.
