With the growing popularity of compact cars in the country, carmakers are introducing products to mark their presence in this segment. Car buyers are now opting for small family SUVs and crossovers over the premium hatchbacks and entry level sedans. Fiat India is also planning to launch the Punto based Avventura crossover in the Indian market. The vehicle will directly compete against the likes of Ford EcoSport, Volkswagen Cross Polo hatchback crossover, which will soon be joined by Toyota Etios Cross. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the Avventura will be launched by the festive season. Here we bring you a brief comparison between the Fiat Avventura against the Volkswagen Cross Polo.

The Volkswagen Cross Polo is basically a jagged up version of the Polo hatchback; however, it is only offered in one variant with 1.2L diesel engine that also powers the standard Polo hatchback. The crossover gets plastic cladding, 15-inch alloy wheels and roof rails which offers a rugged stance to it. It is loaded with high end comfort and safety features including dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system, integrated music system, automatic climate control, multi-functional display and many more.
Like Cross Polo, the Avventura crossover is also based on its hatchback sibling, Punto, which gets body cladding all around. The high ground clearance and sporty alloys further enhances the overall sporty character. The Avventura shares its interior styling and component levels with the Punto hatch; however, it gets some additional features. It is equipped with bright orange accents around the dash and orange stitching that complements the dark grey and white fabric upholstery. The top spec model features climate control, cruise control and 2-DIN music system.
The Volkswagen Cross Polo is priced at Rs. 7.76 lakh. On the other hand, the Fiat Punto Avventura is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 6.5 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh for the top spec diesel model.
